Farm Service Elevator
Grain Marketing Options Effective 11/5/09
(Subject to Change at any time without notice)
Our current programs are listed below. These are the
depositions that drivers are able to use at the scale at the time of delivery.
At this time the options are as follows:
· Spot sales
(Sold)
· Contract
· Price
Later (DP/NPE)
· Condo
Storage (This is only available to those customers who have a 10 year lease)
Program explanations:
Spot Sale (cash sale)-Selling at time of
delivery.
Deferred Delivery Contract
(Contract for future delivery of grain)-MOST
POPULAR. This is the most widely used marketing tool for forward pricing.
Producer requests bushels and delivery time, price is our board price for the
delivery period specified. We are writing contracts from now out to Dec 2010.
Price Later (Not currently
Available) The Price Later program for this
fall is 4.5 cents per bu. per month. There is no minimum charge and is prorated
on a daily basis. Pricing is done during normal CBOT day trading hours of 9:30
AM to 1:15 PM. The price is the spot price at the time of pricing. Price Later
corn may not be applied to a forward contract.
Condo Storage Lease (for those customer who have leased storage)
The purchase price when sold is agreed to be buyer’s cash
bid price (spot), less charges at the time Seller gives notice to buyer to set
the price. Pricing must be done during CBOT trading hours.
Target Offers Allows
you, the producer to call us and set a target price and delivery period on the
number of bushels you specify. At that point, we watch the grain markets for
you until the date that you have set for the offer to expire..
If our bid meets the price you set prior to the expiration date a Deferred
Delivery contract is written.
